TEDxMUET 2023: A Celebration of Ideas and Innovation

On October 9, 2023, Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro, proudly hosted the 3rd edition of TEDxMUET, an event that proved to be an intellectual extravaganza, leaving attendees captivated and inspired. This thought-provoking gathering featured an array of dynamic speakers, each offering their unique perspectives on a wide range of subjects, from education to environmental preservation.
The event opened with a welcome speech by Prof. Dr. Tauha Hussain Ali, Vice-Chancellor, MUET, setting the tone for a day filled with intellectual stimulation.
The first speaker of the day was Dr. Rahim Bux Bhatti, Director of GIMS, who shared profound insights into the ever-evolving landscape of medical science in Pakistan. Next on roster was Mr. Masood Lohar, CEO of Clifton Urban Forest, who sparked compelling discussions on the importance of urban green spaces and the urgent call for sustainability. In an other talk, Ms. Hira Khan, a beacon for Hyderabad’s animals, who moved hearts with her unwavering dedication to the welfare and rescue of our animal companions. The next talk which inspired many was by Mr. Adil Ghani, who shared how he never let his blindness stop him from achieving his goals. Followed by that Ms. Sadaf Raza Warraich, an accomplished entrepreneur and social activist, shared story of her fight with the cancer and how she became a role model for many. Last speaker of the day, Mr. Agha Shakeel, Founder of Coin The Education, ignited enthusiasm through a spirited discourse on reshaping education paradigms with innovation.
The event was further enriched with an engaging musical performance and an impressive drama theatre piece by students of MUET.
As the event gracefully drew to a close, Prof. Dr. Zeeshan Khatri delivered closing remarks, underscoring the pivotal role of platforms like TEDxMUET in nurturing innovation and propelling positive change.
TEDxMUET 2023 served as a testimony to the potency of ideas, collaboration, and the unwavering pursuit of knowledge. Attendees left the event with a renewed sense of purpose, ready to champion positive change within their respective spheres.
Notably, TEDxMUET 2023 was officially licensed by TED, ensuring strict adherence to TEDx standards and guidelines. The license was granted to Engr. Salman ul Mouzam Abbasi, the founder, and advisory board member of TEDxMUET, whose dedication to TEDx’s mission of spreading transformative ideas was instrumental in making this event a success.
