Anti-Plagiarism Service
Academic integrity is the cornerstone of quality education and research. Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MUET) is dedicated to fostering a culture of originality and ethical scholarship among its students, faculty, and researchers. In line with the vision of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan, MUET actively utilizes Turnitin, a globally recognized anti-plagiarism software, to ensure academic honesty and enhance research quality.
Purpose of Anti-Plagiarism Services
The Anti-Plagiarism Services at MUET are designed to:
- Promote ethical academic practices by educating the university community about plagiarism and its consequences.
- Enhance writing skills among students and researchers, enabling them to produce original and high-quality scholarly work.
- Identify and avoid plagiarism by providing access to Turnitin, helping users detect similarities in their work and refine their content accordingly.
Services We Offer
- Turnitin Access for Faculty and Researchers
Faculty members are provided with Turnitin accounts to check their research outputs, including papers, articles, and conference submissions, ensuring compliance with ethical standards before publication. - Turnitin Access for Ph.D. Scholars
Dedicated accounts are available for Ph.D. students to evaluate the originality of their theses before final submission. This ensures that their work adheres to HEC and MUET guidelines. - Usage Support
A dedicated Focal Person is assigned to address all queries and provide technical assistance related to Turnitin. This ensures a seamless experience for users while maintaining academic integrity.
Guidelines for Using Turnitin
- Faculty members and students are encouraged to review their work well before submission deadlines to allow for revisions.
- Ensure proper citation and referencing to avoid unintentional plagiarism.
- Follow the plagiarism policy outlined by MUET and HEC for acceptable similarity index thresholds.
