Vice Chancellor's Message

Vice Chancellor Mehran UET

It is an extreme honor and privilege for me to lead one of the prestigious University of the country as the Vice Chancellor. I have great affection and love for this wonderful institution since my student life here in the year 1989.  I started my career as a Site Engineer way back in 1995. However, my passion to serve my Alma mater led me to join this university as a faculty member in 1996 reaching the top echelons as Meritorious Professor in 2018. In 2006, after completing my PhD from Australia, envisaging my dream for Mehran UET, I worked in different administrative capacities such as a Focal Person SFAO, Registrar and Pro Vice Chancellor. My focus since then has been to raise the bar of education & research.

This university is known for producing high quality engineering graduates for many years. By the grace of Almighty Allah, Mehran UET is now considered a distinguished public sector engineering university at the national & international level, ranked 1st in the province of Sindh and 2nd in Pakistan, ranked 351st amongst the top 400 universities of the world ranked by “QS Top World University Ranking”. Having achieved this laurel of success the next milestone is to see Mehran University in the top 100 universities of the world.

This university provides the best learning environment to its students and researchers. The university has state of the art laboratories for use by the students, faculty and industry.  Mehran UET is committed to raise the research quality by employing PhD’s in conventional fields as well as in emerging areas of engineering, science, technology and social sciences. In this context, Mehran UET is fortunate to have wealth of resources of high quality faculty who produce research papers in high impact factor journals.

As a Vice Chancellor of my alma mater, I share a dream, a dream I relish and endeavor to achieve; the dream is to make Mehran a leading university where knowledge is created; economies and communities are built and leaders are produced in different walks of life which will ultimately register the name of Mehran University amongst the top 100 universities of the world. The future belongs to those who believe in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).

I as a Vice Chancellor of Mehran UET have the vision to restructure the traditional aspects of teaching and learning towards building harmonious communities, sound economies, and modern patterns of leadership to tackle the challenges faced nationally and globally.

"HOPING TO SERVE MORE BETTER TO MY MEHRAN, MY UNIVERSITY."
