1.0 CPD Seminar: "Vision Testing and Correction Instrument"

Department of Electronic Engineering and ORIC MUET in collaboration with the OPTICA Student Chapter MUET and IEEE IMS MUET Branch Chapter organized a CPD seminar on "Vision Testing and Correction Instruments" on October 11, 2023, at the Department of Electronic Engineering, MUET, Jamshoro. The seminar was conducted by Dr. Shoaib Rehman Soomro, Assistant Professor, Electronic Engineering Department, MUET, Jamshoro. The event commenced with the recitation of Quran Majeed. Chairperson Electronic Engineering Department, Prof. Dr. Wajiha Shah welcomed all participants and faculty members and highlighted the significance of Continuous Professional Development courses, emphasizing their relevance to students engaged in optics research. She also appreciated the efforts of Dr. Shoaib R. Soomro and the CPD coordinator Engr. Shoaib Hassan Khaskhelli. The seminar topics included and introduction of human visual system, optics of the eye, visual impairments, conventional and modern vision testing instruments, and adaptive optics vision instrument.

The seminar concluded with closing remarks by Prof. Dr. Wajiha Shah and presentation of an appreciation shield to Dr. Soomro. At the end, Engr. Kamran Kazi extended a vote of thanks to the chairperson, resource person and all participants, encouraging a spirit of continuous learning and professional development among attendees. This seminar facilitated knowledge enhancement in the field of optics, thanks to the collaboration between various chapters and the active involvement of the resource person.
