1st International Workshop on Erasmus+ and Horizon 2020 opportunities by ESAA with the collaboration of MUET

The Seminar was organized at Mehran University of Engineering & Technology (MUET) on September 1, 2015 in order to spread awareness among students and faculty members about Erasmus+ and H2020 opportunities. There were five speakers, among them 2 gave presentation on Skype. Following are the speakers listed:
1) Ghulam Shabbir Babar- Briefed about Degree Mobility and his experience.
2) Neringa Tumenaite-: Skype session on Erasmus + opportunities and Credit Mobility in particular.
3) Marjolein van Griethuysen –Skype Session on Education and Research in Europe in particular H2020 Opportunities.
4) Rizwan Mumtaz- Briefed about Application guidelines for Erasmus+
5) Kapal Dev- Briefed about Erasmus + and Alumni
More than 350 students and faculty members from various disciplines and Institutions gathered in MUET auditorium to attend the workshop and were introduced to the numerous Erasmus+ opportunities. Vice chancellor of MUET and chief guest of the event Prof. Dr. Muhammad Aslam Uqaili, Prof Dr. Bhawani Shankar Choudhry- Dean FEECE and Prof. Dr. Inamullah Bhatti-Director (ORIC) appreciated the efforts taken for organizing the event and discussed the history of Erasmus in MUET. Session by speakers enlightened the audience with their experiences of Erasmus Mundus/Erasmus + and students were encouraged to ask questions openly from the speakers.
The event was discussed in detail on electronic media as on Sindh TV news by Prof. Bhawani Shankar Chowdhry, Babar Ghulam Shabbir and Rizwan Mumtaz which will go on air by 13th September 2015 and will surely spread Erasmus + and H2020 opportunities criteria to every corner of the country. At the end of session,
Mr. Mumtaz said: I had a very good experience. The audience were great. Also, the university seems very well informed about Erasmus+ and is looking at this program with a proactive approach.
Prof. BS Chowdhry said: I am pleased to announce the opening of Erasmus Plus information Desk in Office of Research, Innovation & Commercialization (ORIC) building of MUET very soon. He further added that our student should get maximum benefit by going through his free online book “Career Roadmap Guide for Engineers” which includes so many tips, SOP templates, reference letter templates and CV writing skills.
We thank all the speakers, organizers and volunteers who made this event possible and we are expecting more students to take interest in Erasmus + after this workshop.
