Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering Department MUET Shaheed Z.A Bhutto Campus Khairpur Mirs

First time the department of Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering MUET Shaheed Z.A Bhutto Campus Khairpur Mirs  organized a one day mega event “1^st National Petro-contest (NPC)” on March 26, 2015 at Sachal Auditorium Khairpur Mirs. It was not only an event, occasion or a day it was an enormous package of technical learning at national ground. It was a legendary meeting where students across the length and breadth of Pakistan had meet up, compete and learn from each other. This event were sponsored by OGDCL, PPL, TCHNOLOGY LINKS, RIZVI&COMPANY, PAK TECH INSTRUMENTS, RAS TECH, NATIONAL SCIENTIFIC CORPORATION.  

The 1^st National Petro-contest (NPC)”  commenced with the recitation from Holy Quran by Mr. Iftakar Hayat (12Batch student), followed by the opening ceremony. The chief guest worthy vice chancellor Prof. Dr. Mohammad Aslam Uqaili inaugurated the event. After that the movie showed of five years progress at campus. Then, the traditional gift with shields were presented by the Worthy Pro Vice Chancellor MUET SZAB Campus Engr. Ghulam Sarwar Kandhar to the honorable chief guest Vice Chancellor MUET Jamshoro Prof. Dr. Muhammad Aslam Uqaili, Registrar MUET Jamshoro Prof. Dr. Taha Hussain Ali, Director IPNGE, MUET Jamshoro Prof. Dr. Suhail Ahmed Soomro, Director Academics & Administration MUET SZAB Campus Prof. Atta Muhammad Phul & Director Finance MUET Jamshoro Engr. Muneer Ahmed Shaikh. 

The welcome address were presented by the Pro Vice Chancellor MUET SZAB Campus Engr. Ghulam Sarwar kandhar and also by the Chairman Department of Petroleum & Natural Gas Enginrering, MUET SZAB campus Engr. Asadullah Memon. Then, the worthy chief guest Vice Chancellor Mehran University of Engineering & Technology Jamshoro Prof. Dr. Mohammad Aslam Uqailli  graced the occasion by expressing his views.

At the end of the opening ceremony, the chief guest and all other dignitaries proceeded to the exhibition area for the inauguration of the exhibition models followed by the Tea break. The  engineering projects presented at the exhibition from the various universities of Pakistan were immensely appreciated by the visitors and remained a key source of attraction all the time.

The technical papers were presented by the students of NED UET, Dawood UET, University of Karachi, UET LAHORE, Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences, Mehran UET & Mehran UET SZAB Campus Khairpur.The four teams were selected for Petro-Smart Quiz Competition from Mehran UET & Mehran UET SZAB Campus Khairpur.

 Prof. Dr Suhail Ahmed Soomro (MUET Jamshoro) & Engr Shahid Shaikh (MPCL)  evaluated the technical Paper Contest while Petro-Smart Quiz Competition were judged by Engr. Nadeem Tunio (MUET SZAB Campus) & Engr. Safiullah Shaikh (MPCL). Engr. Qurban Ali Abbasi (OGDCL) & Engr. Abdul Shakoor Shaikh were the Judges for the Engineering Model Exhibition Competition.

The organizers were awarded shields by the Pro Vice Chancellor MUET SZAB Campus Engr. Ghulam Sarwar kandhar. The event was concluded with the vote of thanks said by the Pioneer of the Institute of Petroleum &Natural Gas Engineering Jamshoro  Prof. Dr. Muhammad Yakoob Soomro.
