2nd Electronic Premier League-Tape Ball Cricket Tournament

The Department of Electronic Engineering, MUET, organized 2nd Electronic Premier League-Tape Ball Cricket Tournament on 20th and 21st September 2022 at the CC-ground of Mehran UET Jamshoro. Eight Teams (one team from each section of current Electronic Batches (18ES, 19ES, 20ES &21ES)) participated in the tournament. In the first round, matches were played based on the knockout system on Tuesday, 20th September. Teams from 18ES-I, 18ES-II, 20ES-I, and 21ES-I qualified for the semifinals. The two semifinals and final match were played on 21st September on the same ground. The 1st and 2nd semifinals were played between 18ES-sec2 vs 20ES-sec1 and 18ES-sec1 vs 21ES-sec1. The chairperson Prof. Dr. Arbab Nighat along with faculty members of the department and the huge crowd of students from all other departments of the University watched the matches and encouraged the students on the ground.
The final match of the tournament was played between the 20ES-sec1 and 21ES-sec1. Defending Champion 20ES-sec1 they again showed their winning spirit and became the winner of the 2nd Electronic Premier League-Tape Ball Cricket Tournament.
The concluding ceremony was held on Thursday, 22nd September 2022 at the Department of Electronic Engineering. The conclusion ceremony was attended by faculty members along with students of the ES department. Prof Dr. Arbab Nighat, Chairperson ES department welcomed all participating teams, faculty members, staff, and students of ES dept. She enlightened that the Department of Electronic Engineering always welcomed these types of extracurricular activities for the betterment of students and continuing the same spirit, the department organized this second tournament of EPL in the same year. She further briefed that these types of physical activities keep the students physically fit and mentally fresh hence helping them to focus on their further studies. She showed her continuous support in organizing such events for the students of the ES department. Besides this, she also acknowledged the efforts of Departmental Event Management Committee (D-EMC) convener Engr. Kamran Kazi & Engr. Shoaib Hassan Khaskheli (Class advisor) for organizing such an event on the departmental level. Prof. Dr. Farida Memon and Engr Tufail Ahmad waseer also render their support to such types of extracurricular activities which enhanced the student’s physical health and help to a healthy environment.
In the end, Trophies and medals were distributed among the players of the winning team (20ES-sec1), runner-up team (21ES-sec1), Player of the tournament & Player of Final Match (Arif Ali), commentators of the event (Naveed Ali (18ES72) & Abdul Rasool (18ES61)) and volunteers as well.
