26/12/2016 - 2:00pm
IEEE Computer Society Karachi Section presented its 4th technical seminar on Cyber Security, Mean Stack Development, Automotive Engineering and Education in Germany exclusively for the students of Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MUET), Jamshoro.
The main motive of this seminar was to make students aware with upcoming opportunities, to enhance their skills with the emerging technologies, provide guidance and lastly make them a dynamic Engineer.
The event was organized by IEEE computer society Karachi section under the supervision of Mr. Hassam Mughal (Treasurer IEEE Computer Society Karachi Section). The guy along with his team which was recruited from the students of Mehran UET put down their complete efforts to make this seminar not only a successful event but a fruitful event for the students of Mehran UET.
The event was attended by the Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Muhammad Aslam Uqaili Vice Chancellor Mehran UET, Guest of Honor Prof. Dr. Bhawani Shankar Chowdhry Dean Faculty of Electrical, Electronics and Computer Engineering, three guest speakers including Engr. Sumair Hamza Baloch COO CodEx Solutions and Founder CIC Hub, Engr. Mohsin Shaikh Former intern AUDI AG Germany, and Dr. Sadiq khan Vice Chair IEEE Computer Society Karachi Section, the Faculty members and 110 participants.
This seminar was beautifully hosted by Mr. Muhammad Ali Memon, student of Department of Software Engineering, Mehran UET Jamshoro.
The inaugural session started with the name of Almighty Allah and later the deepest gratitude was expressed towards Dr. B.S.Chowdhry and Dr. Naeem Ahmed Mahoto for their endless support and guidance by Mr. Ali the host. It was about 45 minutes long and then questions were welcomed from the students by Mr. Baloch.
The next session was on Automotive Engineering and Opportunities of studying in Germany which was presented by Engr. Mohsin Shaikh. He explained about his educational experience and scope of Automotive Engineering, He said that Automotive Engineering incorporates not only with Mechanical Engineering but Electronics Engineering, Computer Systems, Software Engineering and Biomedical Engineering also as applied to the design, manufacture and operation of motorcycles, automobiles and trucks and their respective engineering subsystems. It also includes modification of vehicles. Manufacturing domain deals with the creation and assembling the whole parts of automobiles is also included in it. Mohsin Shaikh extend the topic by explaining how to avail scholarships for higher studies at Germany which inspired them. The session was 45 minutes long and was very productive to students.
The last session of the event was on Cyber Security which was presented by Dr. Sadiq Ali Khan Associate Professor at Computer Science Department in University of Karachi and Vice Chair IEEE Computer Society Karachi Section. He explained that the necessity of strong cyber security measures is self-evident these days. A proliferation of cyber-attacks is causing increase in damage to companies, governments and individuals. Yahoo’s disclosure of a massive breach is still making headlines. Organizations, need to respond to this increased threat by adopting strict cybersecurity measures. This wrapped up the event and everyone was asked to leave the hall and collect their refreshment boxes from the desk. In the end, special lunch was prepared for the Chief Guest, Guest of Honor, Guest Speakers and Faculty Members which was accompanied by the volunteers.
4th Technical Seminar was an outstanding effort of IEEE Computer Society Karachi Section and volunteers to bring technical and educational change in the minds of young Engineers and give them a thought to think about studies in Germany, cyber security and, mean stack development; it was a successful event according to the participants.
The activities and stuff was well oriented by the team of volunteers. The objectives were so far achieved as the major object of the event was to motivate young Engineers to work for bright future of their own and for the society they are living in. Our collective effort was to provide a platform to the young Engineers to know about studies in Germany, the importance of Automotive Engineering in different fields of Engineering and Mean Stack Development is faster way to develop websites instead of the legacy system and cyber security which has become main issue for the society to get secure from hackers.
