Arduino Days 2024 Celebrations at Electronic Engineering Department MUET Jamshoro

The Department of Electronic Engineering at Mehran University of Engineering and Technology organized a successful event to celebrate Arduino Days 2024 from 21-23rd March 2024 under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Attiya Baqai. In total 263 local community events were officially approved around the world by Arduino platform from which MUET Electronic Engineering Department proudly represented Pakistan as the sole participant from the country. Throughout the celebration, students from the 21ES Batch presented their impressive Arduino based projects, covering diverse fields such as robotics, automation, monitoring, and agriculture. It was a day filled with creative ideas from the students, offering them an excellent platform to showcase their innovations. The Chief Organiser of the event Prof. Dr. Attiya Baqai along with her team coordinators Engr. Arsha Rathi, Engr Burhan Aslam, and Engr Shoaib Khaskheli have been instrumental in organising this event and ensuring its success.
The event was inaugurated by the Chairperson of the Department of Electronic Engineering, Prof. Dr. Wajiha Shah along with the Guests of Honor of the event Engr Hashim Hussain, Chief Aviation Management School and Engr Haris, Chief Electronics School from Civil Aviation Training Institute Hyderabad, judges and the faculty members of the department. The projects were evaluated by a panel of judges including Dr. Fahim Aziz Umrani, Associate Professor Department of Telecommunication Engineering, Dr. Zafi Shehran Shah, Associate Professor Department of Telecommunication Engineering, Dr. Azam Rafique, Senior Instrumentation Engineer Department of Electronic Engineering, and Engr. Burhan Aslam, Lab Supervisor Department of Electronic Engineering. A large number of students and faculty members visited the projects and praised the hard work of the participants and the organising team.
The event concluded with the welcome note of Chairperson of Department of Electronic Engineering Prof. Dr. Wajiha Shah to all the judges, guests, participants, and team coordinators. The Chief Organizer Prof. Dr. Attiya Baqai delivered a talk on topic “From Classroom to Career: Harnessing Arduino for practical learning” which helped the students gain valuable insights into the practical applications of Arduino. She also discussed some related successful Pakistani startups to motivate students. She also displayed her mentored TactiLearn startup and Electronic Engineering Department’s FYP from 20ES Batch "Advancement in Braille Learning Tool with the help of EDGE AI" during her talk. This project is also acknowledged and included in livestream by official Arduino YouTube channel on 22nd March 2024 for Arduino Day celebrations. The Dean FEECE, Prof. Dr. Mukhtiar Ali Unar joined the event as Chief Guest and commended the students for their projects and encouraged them to continue generating innovative ideas in his address. He along with the organizing team distributed the certificates among the guests, judges, team coordinators, volunteers, and the participants.
The best projects were awarded with cash prizes and were announced as follows:

2nd prize: Solar tracking system using Arduino.Group members:Mr. Muneer,Mr. Mudasir,Ms. Aqsa Fatima
3rd prize: Gesture-controlled robot. Group Members:Mr. Muhammad Hadeed, Mr. Aftab Akhund,Mr. Yash
The event ended with memorable group photo with Chief guest, Guest of Honors, organizing team and volunteers. The Chief organizer, Prof. Dr. Attiya Baqai, extends a heartfelt thanks and congratulations to 21ES for orchestrating such a impactful event.
