Department of Electronic Engineering organized Summer Internships

The Department of Electronic Engineering organized summer internships from 22nd May to 9th June 2023 in three different areas: "Microcontroller-Based Embedded Systems for Digital Electronics Applications", "Robotics and LEGO" and "PLC Programming". The two-week internships were scheduled on Mondays to Wednesdays, from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM. More than 50 students from various engineering disciplines participated in these internships."
Internship Details:
1. Microcontroller-Based Embedded Systems for Digital Electronics Applications
- Duration: 22nd May to 2nd June, 2023
- Resource Persons: Engr. Arsha Kumari and Mr. Muhammad Ali Soomro

2. Robotics and LEGO
- Duration: 22nd May to 2nd June, 2023
- Resource Persons: Engr. Burhan Aslam Arain and Engr. Noorain Korai
- No. of Participants: 19
3. PLC Programming
- Duration: 29th May to 9th June, 2023
- Resource Persons: Engr. Khurram Shaikh, Engr. Salim Ali Lashari, and Mr. Illahi Bux
- No. of Participants: 21
Throughout the internships, a balance between theory and hands-on practice was emphasized. The participants attended theoretical sessions to understand fundamental concepts and principles, followed by practical sessions to apply their knowledge in real-world scenarios. Experts in their respective fields, the resource persons played a vital role in imparting their knowledge and experiences to the students.
A concluding ceremony marked the successful completion of the internships on Thursday, 13th July 2023. The ceremony took place at the Video Conference Hall, IIT Building, with Prof. Dr. Aftab Ahmed Memon, Dean FEECE, as the chief guest. Prof. Dr. Wajiha Shah, the Chairperson of the Department of Electronic Engineering, was also present at the event, along with Faculty members, Resource Persons, and all the participants.
The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by a warm welcome speech delivered by Prof. Dr. Wajiha Shah. She expressed gratitude to the chief guest, resource persons, faculty, and participants for their active participation and dedication. She also emphasized the importance of these internships in fostering academic and professional growth among the students. Further she also commended the efforts of the Resource Persons, Departmental Event Management Committee (EMC) & Lab Quality Management Committee (LQMC), giving special recognition to Engr. Shoaib Hassan Khaskhelli, Senior Instrumentation Engineer and the focal person of the internships.
In his address, Dean FEECE, Professor Dr. Aftab Ahmed Memon, highlighted the significance of practical training programs like these. He emphasized the value of such internships in preparing students for the industry and improving their employability. He also praised the dedication and hard work of the resource persons, acknowledging their role in providing valuable knowledge and skills to the participants.
Certificates were distributed to both the resource persons and the students as a token of appreciation for their successful completion of the internships. Additionally, the resource persons received cash amounts in recognition of their significant contributions to the success of the internships.
The summer internships on Microcontroller-Based Embedded Systems, PLC Programming, and Robotics with LEGO left a lasting impact on the participants. These programs provided them with valuable learning experiences and equipped them with practical knowledge and skills in their respective fields. The dedication and expertise of the resource persons played a vital role in making these internships a resounding success. By organizing such comprehensive and well-structured internships, the institution continues to contribute to the overall development of talented engineers and further strengthens its reputation in engineering education.
