In particular, they are using patents to leap frog each other and maintain their competitive advantage. In this “Hands‐On Workshop on Patent Drafting, Patent Prosecution and IP Commercialization”, you will learn the art of writing patent applications and prosecuting them from a Silicon Valley inventor and entrepreneur. You will learn the importance of IP; drafting patents including

writings claims, embodiments, and other important elements of detailed specifications; utilizing your patents to build new companies, and helping your organization generate revenues. Instructor provides step‐by‐step instructions to help you draft parts of your patent application during this training.

This workshop is targeted at Mehran University’s engineers & scientists, IP attorneys, IP portfolio managers, and executives working for various government and industry organizations.

About Instructor

Mr. Shabbir Khan who is industry veteran with 20 years experience in defining, analyzing, positioning, pricing, managing, and marketing software and hardware products  in the Silicon Valley. Mr. Khan was awarded six (6) patents by the USPTO (US Patent and Trademark Office) for his inventions in the areas of Internet data exchange, security, and network bandwidth management routers. He brings a wealth of product management experience, having held senior-level marketing and product management positions at leading high-tech companies, including Sun, Novell, and Borland. Mr. Khan has also worked as a sales representative for IBM. He attended IBM’s Sales School and was a member of IBM’s 100% club.
