28/01/2025 - 2:34pm
The Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), in collaboration with Mehran University of Engineering & Technology (MUET), Jamshoro, successfully hosted a four-day training session on “Outcome-Based Accreditation for Program Evaluation”. The event took place at MUET’s state-of-the-art campus from January 26th to January 29th, 2025.
This comprehensive training program brought together experts, academicians, and professionals from across the engineering education sector to explore and implement best practices in program accreditation based on outcome-based education (OBE) principles. The initiative aligns with PEC’s mission to elevate the standards of engineering education in Pakistan and ensure compliance with international accreditation standards.
Key objectives of the training included:
- Equipping participants with the knowledge and tools to conduct effective program evaluations.
- Enhancing the understanding of OBE frameworks and their implementation in academic programs.
- Strengthening collaboration between PEC and engineering institutions nationwide.
The sessions featured distinguished speakers and trainers who shared insights into global trends in accreditation and evaluation methodologies. Participants engaged in interactive discussions, case studies, and practical exercises designed to foster a deeper understanding of OBE principles and their applications.
PEC, expressed gratitude to MUET for hosting the event and emphasized the importance of such initiatives in ensuring that engineering graduates in Pakistan are prepared to meet global challenges. MUET, highlighted the university’s commitment to promoting academic excellence and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
The training concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony, where participants were commended for their dedication to enhancing the quality of engineering education. This event marks another milestone in PEC’s efforts to build a robust and internationally recognized accreditation system for engineering programs in Pakistan.
