Jamshoro, January 2025: Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MUET) proudly hosted a three-day program review conducted by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) from 16th to 18th January 2025. This rigorous review focused on the postgraduate programs (ME/MS/MPhil and PhD) offered at MUET, ensuring compliance with HEC standards and striving for academic excellence.
The program review brought together distinguished members of the HEC Program Review Panels, MUET faculty, administrative heads, and students. The agenda emphasized a detailed evaluation of academic policies, infrastructure, and compliance with HEC-approved standards and regulations.
Event Highlights
Day 1: Comprehensive Orientation and Initial Review
The event commenced with a warm reception for the Program Review Panels at the Vice Chancellor’s Secretariat. Following the recitation of the Holy Quran and participant introductions, the MUET management, including Prof. Dr. Anil Kumar, Pro Vice Chancellor (PVC) of MUET, presented a detailed briefing on the scope and performance of postgraduate programs. Topics covered included admission policies, faculty statistics, examination systems, budget allocation, and graduate outcomes.
The review continued with internal meetings, file reviews, and interactive sessions. Faculty members and administrative heads shared their insights during private meetings, ensuring transparent communication.
Day 2: Facility Inspections and Stakeholder Engagement
Day two focused on the physical evaluation of facilities, including laboratories, libraries, classrooms, and allied resources at MUET. The Review Panels assessed the adequacy and functionality of these facilities to support advanced academic programs. The day concluded with internal discussions to record observations and progress reports.
Day 3: Final Reports and Recommendations
The final day involved detailed documentation of findings and evidence gathered during the review. The event concluded with an exit meeting with the Vice Chancellor of MUET, where the Review Panels shared their recommendations for further improvement. A group photograph marked the end of this collaborative endeavor.
