Report on training on OBE Implementation

Department of Electronics Engineering has organized one-day training on OBE implementation on Wednesday, 1st March 2023 at the Electronic Engineering Department, MUET, Jamshoro. The seminar started with the recitation of the Holy Quran. The Chairperson Prof. Dr. Arbab Nighat welcomed the resource person and faculty members. The resource person of the training was Dr. Naeem Mahoto, Associate Professor & Chairman of Software Engineering Department, and focal person for OBE Committee at Mehran University.
The primary focus of the training was insights of Bloom's Taxonomy, action verbs of CLOs and implementation of OBE system. Dr. Mahoto explained the importance of OBE and how it can help in designing effective curricula that cater to the needs of the industry and society. He emphasized that it is responsibility of faculty members to understand the concept of OBE and its implementation in their teaching practices. He discussed the different levels of Bloom's Taxonomy and how it can be used to create appropriate learning outcomes. He also highlighted the significance of CLO and PLO mapping in the curriculum and its alignment with the program's learning outcomes.
The faculty members of the Electronic Engineering Department attended the seminar and participated in the discussions. They raised several queries related to OBE implementation and its challenges.
At the end of training, the Chairperson, Electronic Engineering Department distributed a shield of appreciation to Dr. Naeem Mahoto. In conclusion remarks she told that the training was informative and it is expected that it contributes positively to the quality of education at departmental level as well as at the university level. The Chairperson also appreciated the faculty members for their participation and efforts of the Departmental Event Management Committee for organizing such event successfully.
