Health and Wellbeing
At Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, we prioritize the well-being of our students and staff. We offer comprehensive healthcare services, comfortable accommodations, nutritious dining options, and excellent sports facilities to promote a healthy and balanced lifestyle.
Medical Care
Mehran University has well-equipped dispensaries on campus at the Student Teacher Center as well as Elsa Kazi hostel which is staffed by qualified doctors and a dispenser. This dispensary provides essential medications and medical assistance for minor ailments. Additionally, our healthcare team offers mental health support and referrals for sexual and reproductive healthcare services to partner hospitals. Moreover, each department has staff members who have received first aid training and may be able to help in case of medical emergencies.
For major illnesses or emergencies, we have partnered with the renowned Liaquat University Hospital, located just 4 km (10 minutes) away on Indus Highway. An ambulance service (with two ambulances) is available to transport students to the hospital promptly. Please contact Mr. Younis Roonjho at 0342-2866721 for ambulance assistance. Edhi Center services can be acquired by dialling 115.

The university endeavors to make affordable and healthy food available for students and staff. One can find a canteen or a cafeteria close by. These services are looked after by the Food & Services Committee.
Sports and Fitness
Mehran University has an active sports culture, with university students participating and winning inter-university sports events across the country. The Directorate of Sports encourages students and staff to get involved in fitness activities through its Gym and Fitness Center. For details, please visit their webpage [https://www.muet.edu.pk/directorates/directorate-sports].
Student’s Advisory Committee
Mehran University Students’ Advisory Committee was formed to bridge the gap between the administration, teaching community, and students. The committee helps students to organize academic and social activities and also to resolve their academic and legal grievances. The committee leads, directs, and administers overall functions of student counseling, hostel residence, student societies, and discipline. The important function of the Students’ Affairs Office is to enhance the quality of student life both in and outside of the classroom. The Student Affairs Office functions as a friend and guide to a student. It administers their needs from the time they step into the University, to their graduation. We provide proactive support and capacity-building services to promote co-curricular activities to enhance the interpersonal skills of the students. Using the platform of the Students‘ Affairs Office, students can build strong relationships with their peers, faculty, administration, and other stakeholders.
The office is led by Prof. Dr. Tanweer Husssain, who may be contacted through phone: 0222772251-72 (Ext: 2030) or email: [email protected].
