THE SOCIAL STATUS OF MATHEMATICS

It is a magnum opus for me to explore my stable thoughts on the social status of the mathematics. Student of mathematics may find a plethora of information, ideas and  articles but many of them are just meretricious. Irrelevant information always baffles the students and assuredly this leaves students perplexed and that’s the only all –encompassing reason that students familiar with maths have been found at sea. This article has been written after deep musing over the polished ideas and rudimentary information about the above cited topic i.e the social status of maths.
No quandary in claiming that mathematics has a colossal importance in the human field.Mathematics has transformed the physical world into numerical world that’s why it is considered as the “mother of science”.It holds a critical position in our society.It is a only subject of science which is the language of science and technology.It would be improbable at all to solve the laws of physics,chemistry and engineering without the help of mathematics .By leaps and bounds mathematics is changing the pattern of  world.

Only subject where we find the greatest motivation for solving any enigmatical problems is mathematics.It tells that every problem has a solution and this spark of motivation enhances our confidence and self-development.

while discussing the social views of mathematics; no doubt mathematics plays a central role with dealing climate change and global warming .We know that climate change is the multidimensional problem which we are facing on the living planet.Mathematics is playing a pivotal role in understanding these challengeable dilemmas .Through mathematical modeling or equation mathematicians or scientists can better understand  the earth’s climate system and can easily predict the deleterious impacts of global warming.Maths also plays a key role in pointing out the fatal diseases and paves our way to develop mathematical strategies for diseases control.

There are  numerous social  applications of mathematics including them;
1: Criminology
Mathematics is widely used subject in the field of criminology .It’s a bonafide that statistics is a crucial part of mathematics and criminology directly depends on statistics.A criminologist needs a numerical that to recognize the nature of crime and this numerical data is calculated by  statistics .Trigonometry is also used for calculating the trajectory of projectiles and utilized in predicting causes of road collisions between cars on roads.

2:Census analysis
Mathematics is rifely used in census activities .Statistics helps to collect data or information about population .By statistics collected data from census is analyzed.

3: Public health
Mathematic plays a significant role in diagnosing different sorts of diseases in public health many mathematical models are used such as SIR (Susceptible-Infectious –Recovered) use differential equation in predicting the rate of infectious diseases within population.

4:Enviromental studies
Many statistical models are used in analyzing pollution level and climate change.

In nutshell Mathematics has a several social applications.It holds a pivotal social value in human society.It has been said that universe is written in the language of mathematics.It is not possible to explore world without the knowledge of mathematics.
