UGRAD AWARENESS SESSION 2023
MUMS has successfully conducted an exclusive awareness session on the UGRAD EXCHANGE PROGRAM for 2nd and 3rd year students. This informative session was organized in coordination with Dr. Asif Ali Shaikh (Chairman of BS&RS), esteemed faculty members Dr. Sania Qureshi, and Mr. Ayaz Mallah, with the insightful presentation delivered by Ms. Neha Jewraj. WELCOME PARTY FOR 23 BATCH
Mehran University Mathematics Society (MUMS), comprising four enthusiastic mathematics batches, organized a heartwarming welcome party for the incoming 23 Batch of Mathematics students. The event proved to be a testament to the spirit of unity and camaraderie that thrives within the mathematics community of MUET.
The welcome party, held on 23/08/2023 at USPCAS-W, proved to be an engaging and interactive affair. The Chairman of BSRS department, Prof. Dr. Asif Ali Shaikh, welcomed 23 BSM batch and encouraged them to spend maximum amount of time in academic activities to strive hard for betterment of their career. Dean of the faculty of Sciences Technology & Humanities Prof. Dr. Abdul Sattar Larik, graced the event with his presence, underlining the importance of such initiatives in fostering a nurturing academic environment.

AWARD DISTRIBUTION CEREMONY OF CALCULUS CONTEST 2023
The award ceremony for the Calculus Contest organized by the Mehran University Mathematics Society (MUMS) took place on 27/03/2023 at R & D building I. Mr. Afzal (21BSM006) secured 1st place and received the top trophy, followed by Ms. Zainab (19BSM14) in 2nd place, and Mr. Muhammad Shayan (21BSM19) in 3rd place. The ceremony recognized the winners' exceptional performance in calculus and distributed trophies and certificates of recognition to honor their achievements. The event concluded with expressions of gratitude to the organizing committee, faculty advisors, volunteers, and sponsors, emphasizing the importance of mathematics and inspiring students to pursue academic excellence in the field.

INTRA DEPARTMENT CALCULUS CONTEST
The Mehran University Mathematics Society (MUMS) organized a Calculus Contest consisting of a screening test on March 14, 2023, and a final contest on March 20, 2023. The screening test was held at the Research and Development (R&D) center and aimed to evaluate participants' calculus knowledge and problem-solving abilities. The final contest comprised three rounds: the preliminary, semi-final, and the grand finale, where students showcased their skills in calculus and competed for top honors. The event was designed to promote mathematical aptitude and provide a platform for students to demonstrate their expertise in calculus.

SPORTS WEEK 2023
Mehran University Mathematics Society organized a Sports Week from March 10th, featuring Badminton, Cricket, Chess, and Volleyball. The event aimed to promote sportsmanship, physical fitness, and teamwork among students. Participants from various departments competed in thrilling matches, showcasing their skills and passion for each sport. The Badminton tournament highlighted agility and strategic gameplay, while Cricket matches exhibited batting, bowling, and fielding abilities. Chess enthusiasts engaged in intense mental battles, and Volleyball teams demonstrated coordination and teamwork. The Sports Week fostered unity, healthy competition, and an appreciation for sports within the university community.

INAUGURATION CEREMONY OF MEHRAN UNIVERSITY MATHEMATICS SOCIETY
Successful Completion of Inauguration Ceremony of Mehran University Mathematics Society
On 28th February 2023, the Inauguration Ceremony of the Mehran University Mathematics Society was successfully conducted at USPCAS-W, Mehran University of Engineering & Technology. The Mathematics Society is a platform where students can come together to learn, discuss, and explore the subject of Mathematics. The purpose of the inauguration ceremony was to officially launch the society and introduce its objectives to the students.
The organizing committee (Executive and Secondary Board) of the Mathematics Society worked tirelessly for weeks leading up to the inauguration ceremony to ensure its success. The committee members decided for the venue, decorations, refreshments, and technical equipment. They also prepared speeches and presentations to be delivered during the ceremony.
The Inauguration Ceremony commenced at 10:00AM with the recitation of a verse from Holy Quran. This was followed by the welcome address by the president of the Mathematics Society, Mr. Zaki Ur Rehman, who highlighted the objectives and activities of the society.
Prof. Dr. Asif Ali Shaikh (Chairman of BSRS Department) delivered a motivational speech to students of Mathematics for getting academic and non-academic events organized through official platform of MUMS. After that, Prof. Dr. Aneel Kumar (Dean, Faculty of Science, Technology and Humanities), through his speech, encouraged students of Mathematics to participate in events like mathematics Olympiads, workshops, conferences, and symposiums. Next, Prof. Dr. Tauha Hussain Ali (Vice Chancellor and chief guest) delivered an inspiring speech on the importance of mathematics in today's world and how societies like the Mathematics Society can help students develop an interest in the subject. This was followed by a debate competition, funny speech, and drama performance on different contemporary topics by students of BS Mathematics.
The ceremony ended with the vote of thanks by the vice president of the Mathematics Society, Ms. Zainab Abdul Rehman. She thanked the chief guest, dean, chairman, the faculty members, and the students for attending the ceremony and making it a success.
The Inauguration Ceremony of the Mathematics Society was a resounding success. The ceremony achieved its objective of officially launching the society and introducing its objectives to the students. The organizing committee did a commendable job in making all the necessary arrangements, and the speeches and presentations were informative and inspiring. The Mathematics Society is now ready to fulfill its objectives of promoting the study and appreciation of mathematics among students.
